So the other day I was at the farmer’s market and I saw a vegetable that I had never used before. Kohlrabi. It looked like an alien head. So naturally, I wanted to try it. It’s similar to a turnip and comes from the cabbage family. I would compare it to the texture and taste of broccoli stems. Because it looked like an alien head, and because the lady told me to, I peeled it, cut it into sticks and roasted it in the oven. It was a perfect vegetable side dish, healthy and delicious!
Here’s what the alien head looks like.
Peel it. Cut it into sticks. Drizzle with olive oil, salt and pepper.
Roast in a 375 degree oven for about 15-20 minutes, until tender.
Serve and enjoy!
