Meatloaf is one of those meals that is like a blank slate. You can pretty much add anything to your meatloaf and it will taste completely different each time. I like adding different flavors to my meatloaf, especially if I am trying to make it “clean.” Let’s be honest, a classic bacon-wrapped meatloaf…using meatloaf mix (ground beef, ground veal, and ground pork), with plenty of seasoning, a ketchup/brown sugar glaze and crispy bacon on top…is my favorite…but this clean turkey meatloaf runs a close second, with plenty of ginger and garlic to add an Asian flair.
Start by mixing all your ingredients in a bowl – ground turkey, egg, oatmeal, soy sauce, green onions, mustard, garlic, ground ginger, and sesame oil.
Use your hands, it’s the best way to mix a meatloaf.
Form into a loaf on a sheet tray or in a loaf pan.
Bake at 375 degrees for about 40-45 minutes.
Serve and enjoy!
1 lb ground turkey
2/3 cup rolled oats
3 green onions, sliced
2 Tablespoons fresh ginger, grated
2 Tablespoons dijon mustard
4 cloves garlic, chopped
2 Tablespoons low sodium soy sauce or liquid aminos
2 teaspoons sesame oil
Mix all ingredients in a bowl, using your hands. Form into a loaf on a sheet tray. Bake at 375 degrees for about 40-45 minutes. Serve and enjoy!
