Smoked Salmon Spread

I’m always on the lookout for a good spread.   I like the combination of smoked salmon and cream cheese because the cream cheese makes the smoke flavor a little mild, and you can add some capers and green onions for a little extra flavor and some texture.  The thing about a good spread is you can use it on your morning bagel or on some crackers or toast points for a good appetizer.

This spread is super easy because there are so few ingredients and it can be done in about 5 minutes.  Just combine the ingredients and you’re good to go.  I used what I did because that’s what I had on hand, but you could also add some hot sauce or crushed red pepper for a little bit of a kick or other seasonings and flavors if you so desire.  It’s completely versatile and completely up to you!

Start by combining your smoked salmon and cream cheese.  I did this with my food processor, but I’ve also done it before with just a fork or potato masher.  The point is to get the cream cheese and smoked salmon completely incorporated.  Of course it’s easier if the cream cheese is at room temperature.

Once the cream cheese and smoked salmon are completely incorporated, add green onions, capers and a little bit of caper juice. You could also add crushed red pepper or hot sauce if you wanted a little bit of a kick.

Mix well.

Serve and enjoy!
